Sustainability Methods and Techniques

This was done for a project in my packaging design class. Our challenge was to create a new product made from 100% recyclable material. We then had to create packaging for our product that would also be sustainable. I wanted to try creating with a new media. Sewing has always been big in my family so I thought now would be the perfect time to learn and test my skills.
I made the Doozie. A denim coozie that you can take anywhere. It has a strap on the top allowing you to enjoy your beverage "hands free". It is made entirely from recycled jeans that are layered, to create durable insulation.

The Doozie also has a pocket in the front for you to store smaller valuables like money, credit cards or ID, or even your whole wallet!
The packaging is made from 100% recycled corrugated cardboard. All designs are laser engraved. This saves money on ink and makes the packaging safer for the environment. It features a seamless pattern of cans and suns to give the potential customer the feeling of being thirsty on a sunny day. The backside features a mission statement from myself.
