Winona State University Theme
Year
Every year at Winona State, there is a university wide theme that is meant to unite the campus under a common topic or goal. The theme for the 2023-24 school year will be Culture of Caring. This theme was chosen due to us finally breaking away from the pandemic and beginning a period of healing both individually and as a community. It was important to the clients that the logo and visual system should be something that pops and feels inclusive to all people on campus. An issue they have been having is overall awareness of the theme and attendance to events.
I developed this logo for the theme. It has a modern look and detailed gradients to give it depth. The colors do not target any one group making it more likely to be viewed by a wider demographic.

Strategy to Increase Awareness and Attendance:
I thought the most efficient way to get people interested and aware would be a sticker sheet. The sticker sheet I made had stickers of the logo as well as some fun stickers that would make the students eager to put them on their laptops and water bottles. These stickers may not seem like much but they will not only advertise around campus, but also help to start conversations between students. The top of the sheet has a welcome message as this would be handed out to incoming freshmen and tansfer students. If students are presented with the theme at the beginning of their 4 years, they are more likely to engage with the theme in the future.
